If you are a serious actor than you should be taking acting classes. Look for a local theater program if you do not have the money for classes.A lot of local schools have cheaper programs that don’t cost much, but you can still get the much needed experience.

Having some monologues to recite when you need to is a smart thing to do. Find a few different types so you can convey a range of your acting ability. 

Even though a lot of people see acting as a hobby, you should be one who takes it very seriously. You always want to think of acting as a craft that you must try better and better everyday. Having talent does not mean that you will be a successful actor. You have to have the devotion and passion to do what you have to do to get to a high level.
