Movie extra jobs are when you are watching a movie or TV show and you see the people standing in the background or filling up the screen to make it realistic. An example would be if a movie was based in a mall, they would need people in the environment not just two stars chatting together. It would not be a very realistic to have a mall totally empty in the day. That is where movie extra jobs come in.

When you watch shows like ER or Greys Anatomy, you will see doctors, nurses, and police in the background of some scenes. Some great news is that their are always extras roles in demand, so that means that movie extra jobs are here to stay.
Another bonus is that if a casting director, producer, or any person in a specific show find you, they can give you an opportunity to break it in the industry. An actor or actress never becomes an extra, but an extra always has the potential to be an actor or actress.
